The Bad Astronomer

Phil Plait, AKA The Bad Astronomer, publishes on substack. Up until this morning, I was still at the free level, receiving a post once a week. Now I’m a subscriber.

Because I am all about learning about science, I encourage you to take a look at his material. Here’s why.

Free post this morning

This week, an important astronomy breakthrough occurred. Phil was so excited by the news that he did two things. First, he wrote an amazing article about it, and second, he posted The Bad Astronomer article for free. He wanted everyone to know about this finding. I would never have read the article if he didn’t choose to post for free today.

Background hum of the universe

Yes, you read that correctly. I could spend an infinite number of words here trying to explain this breakthrough in the search for the background hum of the universe. I won’t. Not because I don’t want you to know. I do. I just can’t possibly explain it better than Phil does in his The Bad Astronomer article.
